There’s no handier spot for a quick stroll through subalpine wildflower meadows than along the Pacific Crest Trail at Mt. Ashland. Starting from a paved road just ten minutes from Interstate 5, this nearly level hike traverses the side of the Siskiyous’ tallest peak, with views south to majestic Mt. Shasta. To make the trip even easier, you can shuttle a car or bicycle to Grouse Gap and hike this 3.4-mile section of the PCT one way.

Mt. Ashland is a featured Wildflower Hike, with a display that peaks between late June and early August.

To start, drive I-5 toward . . .
