Browder Ridge, like many of its better-known neighbor peaks in the Old Cascades, sports steep wildflower meadows on its high southern slopes. But no crowds roam Browder Ridge’s meadows, as they do at nearby Iron Mountain. And Browder Ridge’s view of the High Cascades snowpeaks is second to none.
The trip provides two options: either climb the well-maintained Gate Creek Trail only as far as the viewpoint on the shoulder of Browder Ridge, or venture onward to the ridge’s summit via a less well-maintained path and a cross-country meadow route. To find the Trailhead, drive Highway …
