The popular trail along this woodsy, low-elevation creek has attractions for each season: fall mushrooms, winter solitude, spring wildflowers, and best of all, summertime swimming holes. For an easy hike, turn back at Timber Creek. Or shuttle a bicycle to the upper trailhead, hike 9 miles of the trail one-way, and shoosh back on 7 miles of pavement to your car.
