Often sunny even when other trails are closed by rain or snow, this loop descends into the Deschutes River canyon past cliffs, caves, and wildflowers. And although you drive here on a labyrinth of paved roads through the Crooked River Ranch’s sprawling subdivision of ranchettes, the canyon itself is maintained as wilderness.
