This desert summit has a visitable University of Oregon observatory, but the mountain itself is also a star attraction. With a bit of easy bushwhacking you can hike 2.8 miles along the open crest of a rolling ridgeline, discovering rock formations, ponderosa pine groves, wildflowers, and views across Eastern Oregon.
