The canyon trails along Tumalo Creek begin just 4 miles from downtown Bend, yet feel surprisingly remote. Even the picnickers who gather in Shevlin Park’s creekside meadows often overlook these paths among the ponderosa pines. A hike here is particularly welcome in winter or early spring when most other Central Oregon trails are under snow.
