The Tillamook State Forest’s free interpretive center beside the Wilson River has lots of attractions—a suspension footbridge, a climbable fire lookout tower, and displays describing the rainforest’s regrowth since the 1933 Tillamook Burn. But the river itself is the star of the show. An easy one-mile loop crosses the bridge to give you a taste of the scenery. A longer hike takes you downriver to two small waterfalls and a high footbridge where you can watch salmon loll in green pools.
