Shrader Old Growth Trail

Tall fir on the trail

  • Easy (Shrader Old Growth Trail)
  • 0.8-mile loop
  • 100 feet elevation gain

  • Easy (Myrtlewood Trail)
  • 0.6-mile round trip
  • 300 feet elevation gain

This nature trail explores a stately glen of giant trees, including the 220-foot-tall, 10-foot-thick Laddie Gale Douglas fir. If the 0.8-mile loop seems short, add an encore—a nearby 0.3-mile path to the world’s largest myrtlewood tree.
