Damnation Creek

The beach at Damnation Creek

  • Difficult
  • 4.4 miles round trip
  • 1000 feet elevation loss

Massive redwoods line the trail down to the rocky beach at the mouth of Damnation Creek. The beach is in a wonderfully remote cove. Cliffs rise from the sea on either hand. Cormorants pose on white-stained rocks offshore. Green sea anemones line seaweedy tidepools. The only damnable part of the hike is that you have to gain a thousand feet of elevation to get back to your car. Dogs are banned.

To find the trailhead, drive …
