Wildflowers, woodpeckers, and viewpoints highlight the loop around this high plateau near Ashland. The route traverses a fir forest with meadowed openings. A 2002 wildfire raced through the western third of the area, cleaning out smaller trees, opening new views, and leaving snags for woodpeckers.
