Handy for a bit of exercise, this trail switchbacks from the Zigzag Ranger Station up the long, wooded ridge known as Hunchback Mountain. After climbing steeply for 2.1 miles, the path passes a rimrock viewpoint overlooking the forested valleys of the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness. For a better look east to Mt. Hood, continue up and down along the ridgecrest to three other viewpoints.
