Once the largest Native American settlement on the Oregon Coast, Tillamook Bay’s Kilchis Point became a logging railroad headquarters and industrial area. But now the marshy forest here is being restored as a nature preserve. An easy hiking trail showcases the area’s history and leads to a beach where great blue herons and snowy egrets nest in trees.
