Here you can hike across the range of coastal dune ecosystems—forest, high dunes, foredune, and beach—in just a mile. If you’re staying at the popular Carter Lake Campground you can start the hike on a shortcut trail there. Other hikers will need to park at the nearby Taylor Lake Trailhead. Parking passes are required, and can be bought on site.
